BREAKING BALL MEDIA

Breaking Ball Media exists because we were tired of sports talk that feels staged, recycled, and disconnected from the fans.
Somewhere along the way, too much coverage started sounding the same — polished scripts, safe takes, and loud debate that doesn’t actually say anything. The games still hit. The moments still matter. But the way we talk about them started feeling empty.
We wanted coverage that sounds like real life. The kind of conversation you hear in the stands, on the drive home, or with 40,000 strangers who feel like friends for three hours. We wanted storytelling with personality, opinions with backbone, and takes that come with context — not noise.
So we decided to build what we couldn’t find.
Here’s what we stand on:
-
Fan-first, always. We write and create for people who actually care.
-
Real opinions, real support. Strong takes backed by facts, context, and receipts.
-
Conversation over clicks. We’re not here to manufacture outrage or chase cheap shock value.
-
Ask the hard questions. Not to push an agenda — to keep the conversation honest.
-
If it feels forced, it doesn’t go out. Quality and credibility win long-term.
Breaking Ball Media will always sound like passionate fans, because that’s who we are. And if we ever drift, this is the standard we’re coming back to.
If you’re reading this, you’re part of what we’re building. Welcome to Breaking Ball Media.

We publish with clarity and a fan's eye — here's who makes it happen.

Gary Prtune | Co-founder
I’m a student at the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting and a lifelong multi-sport fan—MLB (#LFGM), the New Jersey Devils, WWE, and NASCAR, with a soft spot for the Warriors. I handle live play-by-play for the Copley Athletic Association’s spring youth baseball season in Ohio, host a weekly trivia night, and write features for BBM. Past on-mic work includes announcing and MC roles for Thurston County Youth Football League in Washington and USA Powerlifting—Washington. I try to sound like the fans I sit with: conversational, curious, and willing to question the old playbook.
Mathew "Mat" Frasier | Co-founder
I grew up in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York and served nearly 12 years as an Infantry Mortarman, leading teams and mentoring soldiers—discipline, integrity, and resilience were non-negotiable. After the Army, I spent a few years in sales, turning those leadership habits into clear communication and relationship building. In 2022 I pivoted to sports and entertainment storytelling. At BBM, I focus on clean structure and the why behind decisions on and off the field—useful takeaways, no fluff, and a voice that brings people together.
